BSA Trust Refuses to Inform their Creditors on the Progress of the Supreme Courts Decision to NOT hear Lujan Appeals

The latest status on the Lujan claimants’ appeal to the Supreme Court, following the dismissal of their en banc hearing in the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals, is as follows:

• The Third Circuit officially denied the Lujan Claimants’ petition for rehearing en banc in June 2025, meaning the full appeals court declined to reconsider the case.123

• After this denial, the Lujan Claimants sought relief from the U.S. Supreme Court. Previously, in February 2024, the Supreme Court had denied their emergency application to suspend payouts from the Boy Scouts settlement trust while the legal challenges continued, allowing the trust to keep operating and distributing compensation to survivors.4

• The Supreme Court has now declined to hear the Lujan Claimants’ appeal, effectively ending their legal options at the federal level and marking the finalization of the settlement plan. The case is now considered closed, and the Boy Scouts bankruptcy settlement will remain in effect.231

In summary, the Lujan claimants have exhausted their appeals, and with the Supreme Court declining to intervene, the existing settlement and bankruptcy plan for the Boy Scouts of America is now proceeding without further legal obstacles from the Lujan group.
